The Committee
The committee is here to do all the behind the scenes work that keeps the society running. The chair is in charge of running the society as a whole. The Treasurer is there to manage the club finances which includes putting together budgets for the shows. The Vice-Chair is there to help out the Chair and generally organises the socials! The Publicity Officer makes sure that our shows and other club events are promoted. The Secretary is responsible for taking minutes of meetings.
Chair - Felix Millne
Prone to fits of unrelenting keenness and the occasional outburst of song, also a fourth year Physicist (does anyone care?), I'm looking forward to doing so many interesting things with MTSoc this year. Previously I've been in The Boyfriend, Imperial Collage, Return to the Forbidden Planet and our 24Hr show, We Will Rock You. I'm never happier than when throwing all my energy into a perfomance on stage, and will be just as glad to throw it into the production of shows and a great society. Please, if you have any interesting ideas then come to me and tell me about them.
Vice Chair - Phil Raymond
A final year chemist in my spare time, I've been involved with MTSoc from my very first days at Imperial, performing at every opportunity. My previous roles are varied, including Berger in ‘Hair’, Bobby in ‘The Boy Friend’ and Daddy Brubeck in 'Sweet Charity’... seems I get typecast as any role starting with 'B'. Either that or a hippy. If you hear someone singing pretty loud, its usually me.
Secretary - Katie Clemence
I'm a final year civil engineer, and I've been more and more involved with MTSoc throughout my time at Imperial. This year I've finally made it onto the committee! I had a big year last year, performing in 4 shows, including as Scaramouche in our 24 hour production of We Will Rock You (a big moment for me)! My other hobbies include cycling, student radio, and jazz singing, and I can make origami dinosaurs on request.
Treasurer - Julian Phatarfod
Hey there! I'm a second year civil engineer who has a soft spot for show tunes. Bizarre you might think? You'd be right. Working with the MTSoc has been a great deal of fun in the past, and I've been a part of the Freshers Revue "Nicest Kids in Town" in 2009 and the Tour Show "The Boyfriend" in 2010. Being genetically half-Indian, I'm rather thrifty and am convinced I will make an excellent treasurer this year. I'm looking forward to a year of singing, acting, dancing and laughter! =)

Hence, I plan to make every character in every show this year a hippy...... only kidding. But, I do promise to make it a whole heap of fun!

I am a third year Aeronautical Engineering student and have been involved with MTSoc since my first year. I have played Mr. Bratt in How to Succeed, Javert in Les Mis, Senex in Forum to name a few. It would seem i am being type-cast as old crumpy men… i hope that isn’t a reflection on me. I am looking forward to taking this amazing society into its next year which i hope will be as fun and as thrilling as the past two years!
Vice-Chair - Lucy Harrold
Chemistry student by day, actress, costume designer and theatre critic for Felix (the newspaper of Imperial College London and Guardian Student Newspaper of the Year 2006 and 2008) by the rest of the day. Huge musical theatre obsessive- if I was on Mastermind my chosen subject would be contemporary Broadway and Off-Broadway in the 21st century. And I’d win.

Joined the society in 2008 when I realised I was going to need relief from Physics. Rehearsals are normally my favourite bit, since I get to see everyone and have a good laugh at the same time. But seeing my friends reactions as I appear on stage in nothing but some tiger striped boxers can also be highly entertaining. Someday I would like to have a small amount of grace whilst trying to dance on stage but until then I shall attempt to wing it to the best of my abilities. If it wasn’t for musical theatre there would be no where for me to have a good old sing song with an American accent (apart from the shower).
